Now, however, the Venetian brand is bestowing its gifts on a younger yet no less discerning kind of client that exudes a cool, charming hippy chic kind of glamour.
Caovilla women are sophisticated, cultured globetrotters that embrace life. They adore Italy, the home of the fine craftsmanship of which Caovilla is the standard-bearer, and are also in love the Belpaese’s culture, natural beauty and traditions.
That’s why the historic Venetian brand has chosen to set its new SS2017 campaign in Trapani on the island of Sicily. A maritime, frontier city located at the very furthest tip of Italy, gazing out into infinity, Trapani is, by its very nature, open to change. A seafaring crossroads where the Mediterranean routes linking Capri with Pantelleria, Ibiza with Marrakech, intersect. Trapani, with its spectacular salt flats, Greek, Roman and Norman influences and gorgeous terracotta coast lapped by the blue Mediterranean, introduces the Spring-Summer 2017 collection, a whole new twist on the signature Caovilla look. This is luxury footwear for young jetsetters: sophisticated jewelled pumps, sandals with glitter detailing for scintillating evenings, flats handcrafted with the same care as fine jewellery, and, last but not least, pop couture sneakers with bright fluorescent inserts. Exclusive handmade footwear, masterpieces of Italy’s sublime artisanal tradition. Perfect for any time of the day – the beach, the charming streets of the chicest holiday destinations or the next pool party.
The campaign was shot by Marco Cella, a talented newcomer with an urbane eye, and features model Alizée Barangé against a warm, romantic yet realistic backdrop. Numero fashion editor Irina Marie’s styling, on the other hand, brings a sweet chic to a very classic kind of femininity.
